Shopify Store Development

Désordre

A designer-led Shopify store that carries the curation, styling, and exclusivity of a Sydney boutique online.

Désordre is a Sydney luxury fashion boutique, established in 2009, selling international designers and statement pieces to customers who want to stand out. We built a Shopify storefront that behaves like a stylist, with designer-led navigation, shop-the-look merchandising, and a checkout that works in 28 markets.

01 — The challenge

A boutique that needed a store as considered as the shop

Désordre carries more than 35 labels, from Gucci and Saint Laurent to emerging names, along with its own Australian-made label. The catalog changes constantly, with new arrivals, restocks, and one-off pieces, and customers need a reason to shop with the boutique rather than directly with the designers.

A standard fashion template would have buried the curation that sets the brand apart. The challenge was to build a store that feels as considered as the boutique, makes a fast-changing catalog easy to shop, and works for customers in 28 countries, so it behaves like a stylist, not a catalog.

02 — The approach

How we got there.

  1. Designer-led navigation

A three-column designer menu, a category menu, and New Arrivals entry points such as “Just Landed” and “Back by Demand”, so customers can start from a name, a garment, or what’s new.

  2. Editorial merchandising

“Shop the looks” layouts and complete-the-look links on every product, with status labels like new, in demand, and last one.

  3. Exclusivity features

An Atelier section for Private Wardrobing and After Hours appointments, a Privée Sale section, and a First Access sign-up for early notice of drops.

  4. Global checkout

Multi-currency pricing for 28 markets, with Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and major cards, plus clear pricing and sold-out states.

04 — The experience

What it feels like to use.

Désordre’s customers shop by designer, by occasion, by what just landed, or with a particular piece in mind. They needed to find a label, build a full look, and check out in their own currency without friction. The brand needed a storefront that felt like a visit to the boutique, with the curation and styling intact.

Storefront

Customers can enter the catalog by designer, by garment type, or through New Arrivals, with “Just Landed”, “Back by Demand”, and “Most Wanted” paths. Homepage collections use shop-the-look layouts, so the curation of the boutique shows up from the first screen.
